Diagnostics
Check engine light on and nobody has been able to tell you why? Reading the code is the easy part. Working out what actually caused it is the job, and it is the part we take our time over.

Family run/Lomita Blvd/Nery and sons
We are a small independent garage on Lomita Blvd. Most of what comes through the bays is everyday driving: services, brakes, check engine lights, smog. But look at what is parked in here on any given week and you will find a Ferrari, a Maserati, a GT3 RS and somebody's motorhome. People bring us the cars they care about.
What rolls through the bays
Plenty of garages will service your commuter. Fewer get handed the keys to a Ferrari F430, a Maserati GranTurismo and a lime green GT3 RS. We get both, and the same people who bring us those bring us the family car too.
We also take the awkward jobs other shops turn away: a Polaris Slingshot, somebody's Class C motorhome, a pair of Trans Ams that are older than most of the technicians working on them.

What we do
If we cannot fix it properly we will say so rather than guess at your expense.
Check engine light on and nobody has been able to tell you why? Reading the code is the easy part. Working out what actually caused it is the job, and it is the part we take our time over.
Routine maintenance on whatever you drive. One of our customers brings in a 25 year old vehicle and it is still on the road, which is really the only review of a service department that counts.
Fluid service, output seals, and the diagnosis that comes before either. Automatic or manual, we will tell you straight whether it is worth doing.
Pads, rotors, calipers and the hydraulics behind them. Everything comes off the ramp checked, not just the corner you came in about.
Testing plus the repair work to get a vehicle through, so a fail does not mean starting again somewhere else.
Purge valves, canisters and the rest of the evaporative system. The parts that quietly trip a light and stop a car passing.

Nery and sons
Nery's is run by Nery and his sons. That is not a marketing line, it is simply who is in the building. A review left back in 2018 already described knowing “Nery (& sons!) for many years”, which tells you roughly how long this has been going on.
We are on Lomita Blvd and we look after people across Lomita, Torrance, Palos Verdes and the wider South Bay. Small shop, no call center, no upsell script. You will speak to the person working on your car.
The black Trans Am on the left wears a plate that reads NERYS77. That one is ours.
In their words
“My vehicle is 25 years old. I go in for maintenance and twice check engine light has come on. They always fix it.”
“I have known Nery (& sons!) for many years and have never been disappointed with their service, quality, and price. They are knowledgeable, honest, and courteous; not just with me but everyone that I know who take their cars to them. They are an asset to the community and I wish them the best.”
